WAKARI SCHOOL.

The animal distribution of prizes at the Wukari School took place on Thursday. A large number of parents and friends of the pupils were present. The school-rooms were decorated with evergreens and flowers, and there was a good display of needlework and darning. A number of songs, readings, and recitations were given by the children, who were addressed by Messrs Hood, Spears, and Godby, members of the School Committee. At the close, Mr Hood, who presided, presented Mr Paterson, the headteacher, with a gold pencil-case on behalf of the pupils as a token of their esteem and good-feeling.
