('ho amount of revenue collected at the Otutomnnu>.e cm goods cleared to-day fo< oammmption via,L 795 6b 9d. The ' Tuapcka Times' states that Mr P. M'GIII has bought nearly all the wheat in the Tuapoka West district at about 3s 8d per bushel, and tho farmers express thomselves very well satisfied with the price. [By TbiiHqrafh.] Mblhohrnb, April 6.—The National Mortgage and Agenoy Company report:—Wheat is at3alodto 3s Ud, with a slightly improved tendency; Parley is at 4s 9d to 6s 3d, with priceß firmly maintained ; oats, feci sorts, are at 2n Bd, and steady hut not in active demand; oats, milling arc at 2b lid to 3s, fair demand ; New Zealand oats, under bond, are at 29 to 2s Id, and quiet; ryegrass, 3* 6d to 4s, quotations merely nominal. STOCK AND STATION REPORT. Mr Donald Stronach (on bebalf of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Uniitccl) reports for tho weok ended April 0 as follows : Fat Cattle.—2o3 head were yarded at Burnside for to-day's market, of which the greator proportion were of inferior quality. Competition for good to prime bocf was fairly active, while biddings for inferior and medium wore only moderately brisk. We can hardly report any improvement in values from last week. Beat bullockß brought L 6 to L 7 10s ; one pen extra wcll-flnished, L 9 6s; inferior to medium quality, L 3 to Lsl6s; cows, from L2l7s 6d to Ml 16s. Fat Shoep —A vory full supply was on the market again to-day—viz., 3,819, all cro s-breds with tho exception of two pens of merinoes. The greater proportion of tho cross-breds - were ewes, ranging from medium to good and prime heavy weights. At tho beginning of the sales prices obtainod were about equal to last week'-, while towards the cloie competition became dull, a' d prices lower than have been experienced yet this season. Bent, ei-.ws-bred wethers brought 0i Od to 7s (id, others 6s (id t.j 6s 3d ; best do ewes, tit) to 7s 3d; medium to good, 3s to 6s 9d ; meiinoes, 2s 6d. We sold on account of Mr Allan Maclean (Waikakahi) 240 primo heavy cross-bred ewes at 7s 3d ; Mr Colin Barton (Maorewhenua), 70 do do, 'atss9dto6s6d; Mr William Toiford (Otanomomo), 104 cro9S-bred ewes, at Ca; Mr Charles A. Taylor (Maerewbenua), 68dodo, at fis 3d to 0s; Metsrs Brugh Bros. (Cloam), 90 do do, at quotations. Fat Lambs —835 were penned, nearly a'l good to prime quality. This numher was rather in excess of requirements, and, although biddings were fairly brisk for best qualitv, competition for medium was somewhat dull and prices all round below last week's, tho rango being Od to 6s 6d We sold on account of Mr A. Rubsell (Kelso), 147 at 5s 3d to 6s. Pigs.—2oo were penned, comprising all sorts. Competition for Blips and stores was fairly active j also for porkers and baconers, prices ranging about equal to last weckV. Stoio Cattle. The market does not show much animation at present A few small lots are si ill changing hands, but at prices unfavorable to breeders. Owing to tho low prioes obtained for fat stock, graziers have very little enouragemtnt to speculate. Storo Slieop —Young sheep, both oross-brcd ind merino, are still in demand, but holders are disinclined to part with th ha while there is a prospect of getting rid of th( ir old stoc ■, and in it is rather a difficult matter to procure suitabe lots of the former ; a moderate demand exists for the latter for boiling down, but without any improvement in prioes. We sold during tho week 3,000 aged merino ewee, and are in trea'y for the sale of several lots wo have on hand. Wool.-During tho week we received the following cablegram from our London office dated April 1 : " Medium and inferior greasy merino has declined Jd per lo tinoe oloso of last sales. CroBS-bred has advanced Jd per lb; faulty groasy msrlnn lambs has declined jd por lb sinoe close of 1 ist sales." LocaHy a fiir demand exists, and p icos rule fully equal to those ob'ained at any time during the season, We did not offer any this week, but will catalogue all to hand noxt week Sheepskins.—At our regular weekly sale on Monday we offered a full catalogue, whioh met with spirited competition from a large attendance of the trade. The bulk of tho skins wero cross-bred, for which an advance on lost week's prions was obtained. This keen competition was no doubt owing to tho receipt of cablegrams during the day reporting oontinued good demand for cross-bred wool, also a slight advanoe in prioes at Home. Country dry oroBS-h/eds, onlv a medium class, brought 9d to 8s 2d; butchers green do, 2s 7d, 2s 9d, 2s lid, 8s 2d, 8s fid ; d» do merinoes, Is 6d, is Bd, is 9d; lambskins, 2s 4d, 2a 6d, 2s 7d, 2s Bd, 3s; dry pelts, 2d to 7d. Rabbit-skins—There Is very little business done in this line in the meantime. Simply owing to the market still continuing bare of supplies a good demand exists, and all lots offered aro readily taken up at higher prioes During the week our London office oabled as follows:—" There is on excellent consumptive' demand Prioes are higher tor all sorts by 2d to 8d per lb.". Shou'd the Home market continue firm at this advanoe the outlook for the local market will be more satisfactory.

Hides.—The demand is quite equal to the supply, and the market comparatively bare. Our local reqniremente, combined with a fair demand for shipment, together coiitiibnte to the upholding of lato rates firmly. Wo quote bulls' aud slippy, lid to 2d ; light, 2Jd to 2gd ; medium, 2j|d to 3Jd ; heavy, 601b at d over, in faultless condition, SJd to 4jd per lb. Tallow.—Tr.ere i» a moderate di niand for local oonBUiiiptum, but thu unsatisfactory tone of the Home market i i rather discouraging to shippers, and, therefore, 1. bs business in being transected. Ker.derers now find it difficult to obtain prioe9 lately ruling, and, un ess prepared t> accept lower rates, the only other course is to ship on their own account. We quot>: inferior and mix d, 10s to 13s; medium 143 to 15s ;i (s uiutton, 16= io 19b; rough fat, inferior 63 to 7s, medium Ss to 9s, yood to best 10s (o lis i.er cwt. Urain.—Wheat: Supplies have been coming forward on a more extensive soale during the last week, and as millers are fully stocked for the time being the market shown le-s animation. Except for particularly good lots buyers are offering lower prices, but rather than accept lest tr>an qurtitions of the last two or three weeks the luk of consignments coming to hand is stored. We quote best milling 3s 7d to 3s 8d ; fo>extra choice lotr, Id more; medium to good, 3-* 6d to 3s 7d ; inferior and fowl?' wheat, 2s 01 to 3s 3d (ex store, bags weighed in:.— Oats : The deliveries are now assuming larger volume, and with a moderate demand b.ithfrom the coast and Australian ports aoonaiderable portion of the consignments coming forward is disposed of, without, however, causing any improvement in prices. Stout bri.'ht milling aro mostly |in d'-mand for shipment. Medium or irregular lotß are not eaßily disposed of, except at the lewe-t quotations, and are in|the meantime mostly stored waiting a better ma- ket." We q lote stout bright milling Is 81 ; short bright feed, Is 7d to Is 7£d ; medium. Is Cd to Is 7d (ex store, bags weighed in). Very few, if any, inferior parcels are noticeable this Boaeon.— Bariey : Supplies of this cereal arc still short, and deliveries few aid far between. Most malt-iters, however, have old stock yet to work on, but immediately these aro worked out a much better demand will be experienced, and every indication is towards higher prices. We quote prime malting 1 at 3s 6d to 3s 9d ; medium, 3s to 3s 3d ; feed and milling, 2s 3d to 3s (ex store). Ryegrass Seed.—Business during the week has been unimportant. A few small Bales have been made during the week, but the market is inanimate. A lot of dirty and inferior seed is on the market, which is almost unsaleable at any price Farmers' medium undressed brings 23 3d to 2s 6d; lest from old pasture, occasionally in small lots, 2s 9d to Bp. Cocksfoot Seed : There U very little inquiry for this; the market exceedingly dull. MINING NOTES. An Arrowtown telegram to the ' Daily Times' says it ia reported there that Fox Brotheri", at Mount Criffel, obtained 01,500 worth of gold for a few weeks' work. Alluvial mining in the Arrow district looks healthy. Mr James Gore, M.H.R., to-day received the following telegram from the Mines Department: —ln Minister's absence I reply to your telegram re prospecting at Milford Sound. No reliable report has been received on the discoveries by Sutherland or other parties in that locality.- F. 11. Hasibr.
