The firßt ircn vessel ever built in Taßtnania was launched nn March 28 from the yards of Messrs Kennedy and Son, Battery Point, Hobart. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company's steamship lonlo irrived at Plymouth at 5 a.m. on 20th February, after a voyage of forty-one days one hour (gro>B time). She left Lyttelton at 11 a.m. on the oth January; had fresh southerly winds, with fair weather, to Cape Horn, which was rounded at 10 a m. on the 22nd January; thence light N.E winds and fine weather to Rio, arriving there at 6 a.m. on tbe 80th January ; coaled and left at 6.80 a.m. next day; thence to Teneriffe light to moderate N.E. winds and fine weather, arriving on the 18th February, and leaving again same day; thence to Plymouth experienced strong head winds and heavy saa, which delayed tho vessel's progress, arriving as above. Tbe lonia Bpoke on February 6, In latitude 66min N., longitude 29deg 18mln W., the ship Iron Awe, from Astoria, all well; and on the 18th H.M.S. Tyne, steering Bouth.
