The following report has been; preparedfor the six months ended December 31:— : During the past six. months no less than 115 cases have been investigated by the {inspector.. Since the beginning of the present year two very flagrant cases of overdriving have beea dealt with, and the offenders heavily!fined, but an account of them will probably come in the next report, A large part of the inspector’s • time-has bean taken up with the- of the Benevolent Institute, but until the public subscribe more generally to the Society it is felt that ft would be unwise-to give' up the income derived from this source.
