SUICIDE AT AUCKLAND.

A Dr Brady, who stated that he was special correspondent .for. the ‘Sydney Herald,’ fell in the street at Onehonga' yesterday afternoon; and died $n a, Jew minutes* Subsequently it transpired that he stated a week ago to the landlord of the Imperial Hotel; Auckland, where he had been staying, that he would commit suicide owimg to domestic troubles. At that date he wrote-a letter'to his wife in Sydney, which he read to the landlord. The contents,' as nearly as the latter can {recollect, were: “ Have not got the tiioney, and think, the best thing I can do Is to' end my miserableezistence. Yourletter,toitoeis very harsh and unkind. Kiss the grandchildren for me.—J. T; Brady.” Yesterday morning.ho told several people he would commit suicide; by taking poison. As no letters from him' have appeared in-the ‘Sydney'Morning Herald,’ it is believed the statement as to his being a special correspondent of that journal is a notion. In a letter left in one of his lodgings, addressed to his successor from Sydney, at the period when he|intended going to Wellington, he says s ‘‘.Dear. Rodgers,—l hear I am in fpr, Jpdia, after a spell in Sydney, I havejgone all Auckland. Leave, you for the rest.— Rodgers, Esq., S.M.H.” Rodgers never dame to Auckland, and hd is believed .to be non-existent.' Brady was looking for a Idtter from his wife from Sydney yesterday morning when hecame into town; but did qot get one..
