The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report:—We held our first opening ssle for this season at the Company’s stores, Low’er Rattray street, this afternoon, which w r as fully attended by our local buyers, who competed fairly and fully up to our expectations. Three thousand five hundred bales have been sold at satisfactory prices, making a total for the wtek of 4,111 bales".
