First Day—Thursday 1 . The nineteenth annual prize-meeting of the above was opened at the Musselburgh range to-day under the moat favorable circumstances. After noon, however, steady rain fell, rendering shooting most disagreeable. There were seventy-one competitors in the first match. Proceedings opened wfth the match at 200 and 500 yards; ten shots. Some exceptionally fine shooting was made, the Clutha men appropriating most of the prizes. Gunner Murray, the first prize-man, made 89 points out of a possible “ century ” on the target; but with his allowance of 2 points for carbines at 500 yards hi.-, total score appears as 91. At the first distance he scored 48, or within two points of the “possible.” The following are the prize winners:— Fiest Match.— 2oo and 500 yds; ten shots. First prize, trophy and L 3; second, third, and fourth, tfophy and Ll each; "fifth and sixth LI 10s; seventh to tenth, Ll each.

The afternoon’s match was postponed owing to the rain. The competition for the Ladies’ Challenge Shield will commence at noon on Saturday.
