MUNICIPAL.
Oavebsham. — At this Borough Council’s meeting last night the burgess roll was adopted. —Mr Ogg took his seat as councillor for Kensington Ward.—The reports of the various committees were adopted,—The resignation of W. Bla :don as fire inspector was accepted.—The auditors’ report showed the expenditure during the past year to have been L 5,578, and. bank overdraft at the close of the financial year to have been Ls33.—The Mayor and Ors Barron and Moas were appointed a deputation to attend the Suburban Municipal Conference oh behalf of the Council.—Some discussion having ensued iu regard to damage likely to be sustained by the Borough by the erection of the proposed bridge across the harbor, Crs Moss and Barron were appointed a committee to report to the Council on the matter. —The clerk was instructed to write to the Harbor Board with reference to a nuisance existing on the Anderson Bay road. — A motion was tabled for next meeting requiring the Mayor to take a vote of the ratepayers in reference to procuring a loan of L 7,000 for a proposed drainage scheme. RosLYN.—At this Borough Councils meeting last night a communication was received from Mr Martin, of Anderston, claiming LlO for damage done to his property by a flood. —Mr R. Hay requested settlement of his account for LlO5, with 8 per cent, interest added, for which judgment was obtained in June, 1880, —It was resolved, as a complaint had been received with regard to cattle straying on the streets, to communicate with Mr Weldon on the matter, with a view to instituting proceedings against all offenders.—Mr G. Oalder reported that one of his children was suffering from a slight attack of scarlet fever.— The following tenders were accepted;— Forms' ,« of George street, Mes»rs Langley and Go.
