OTAGO RIFLE ASSOCIATION.

The annual mooting of the 0 ago Rifle Association has been fixed to take place at Anderson's Bay on the 17th, ISth, l'Uh, and 21) th inst. On the first clay two matches will be fired, viz , ten shots at 400 and GOO yds, for which there are ten prizes and range prizes; and ten shots at 300 and 500 yds, with same prizes. Ou the second day the third match will be fired ; ranges 200, 400, and 500 yds, seven shots at each ; and the fourth match, 200, 500, and 600 yds ; seven shots, prizes the same as on the first clay. The above four matches to count for the aggregates. The council ef the Association have agreed to the suggestion of the Canterbury Association, to make the Interprovincial match ten men aside. A team from the North Otago Association will also take part in the c mpetition. This will follow the Lidies' Challenge Shield contest on the third day. Threo matches are to be fired on the last day of the meeting. The day will be opened with the Consolation match ; ranges, 200, 400, and 500 yds ; five shots at each range, with ten prizes, but no range prizes; then follows a long-range match to be fired at 11 a.m., ten shots at 800 and 000 yds, any rifle to be used; and the gathering will be brought to a close with the Cadet match, same conditions as last year. In the long-range competition an entrance fee of 10* is to be charged, the first prize being one-half the entrance fee, the second tvvo-sixth3, and the third one-sixth. The Association intends this year issuing score-books of a like character to those of the last gathering, and as space is filling up advertisers would do well to make early application to Mr Creagh, the hen. secretary. Kntries can be made up to Tuesday evening, the Kith inst., and competitors must provide themselves with tickets for sighting shots before going on the ground.
