A NUISANCE.

To the Editor. S lß> _ Why should the inhabitants of Frederick street be the victims of such a disgusting nuisance as the drain proceeding from Stra chan’s Brewery is ? There is a constant How, and therefore a constant stench ; during summer it is scarcely endurable. Why should not the drain be covered in ? Surely it is not right that two or three hundred people should suffer for the convenience of one man. lam really surprised that, considering the length of time the sewer has been in existence, the Corporation has not noticed it, or that our worthy councillor, Mr Barnes, has not taken steps to remedy the evil, i really hope somebody in authority will take this hint, as the summer is now at its height, and the fewer fevers we have the better. —I have, &c., Health. Dunedin, 31st Dec., 1872.
