(By Toleflraph—Press Association—CopyrieM.)

Rec. 11.20 a.m

NEW YORK. December 21

The United States is now constructing- 500 atomic bombs a year for a stock-pile.

This was indicated in a speech by Dr. Irving- Langmuir, who said that the production costs of each bomb were 1,000,000 dollars, and that the United States was spending- 500,000,000 dollars a year on them.

Dr. Langinuir expressed enthusiasm at the decision of Messrs. Truman, Attlee, and Mackenzie King1 to exchange information with the Russians. "It was a great mistake not to include Russia in the atomic bomb project in the first place as we did Britain and Canada," he said. He attributed many of the current diplomatic and political difficulties to Russia's feeling of insecurity regarding1 the atomic bomb.
