IN BRITISH ZONE
COLLIERIES BEING TAKEN
OVER
Rec. 12.45 p.m. BERLIN, Dec. 21. The Allied military government has lifted the curfew restrictions on German citizens in Berlin. A senior United States officer said the crime situation had improved sufficiently to warrant this step. The curfew would be imposed again if there was any noticeable increase in crime. The British will take over the direct control of all the collieries in the British zone in Germany from tomorrow. The assets involved total hundreds of millions sterling. A controller will be appointed in charge of the assets of 68 colliery companies.
