REPARATIONS SHARED
BRITAIN GETS MOST
LONDON, December 21. An agreement on the distribution of reparations from western Germany among the United Nations, with the exception of Russia and Poland, was signed in Paris today. Russia and Poland were not included because their share of the total, 25 per cent., had been fixed in advance.
The remaining 75 per cent, is divided into two groups; one is confined to industrial equipment and shipping and the other covers everything else due to be taken as reparations. The biggest over-all share goes to Britain with 28 per cent of both groups. The United States also gets 28 per cent, of general reparations, but together with Canada and South Africa has agreed to take a reduced share of industrial equipment and shipping. France gets 16 per cent, of general reparations, and nearly 23 per cent, of industry and shipping. What is left of the total is divided between the 14 other nations which took part in the conflict. A Paris message says the French Cabinet has accepted France's quota.
