STATE AIR SERVICES
AUSTRALIA TO GO AHEAD
Rec. noon. CANBERRA, Dec. 21. The Federal Government intends to go ahead with its plan to establish a Commonwealth inter-State air line. This decision has been made in spite of the High Court judgment that parts of the Air Lines Act are invalid. A Government spokesman said: "We shall establish our own air line, though the date.,of. its inauguration has- not yet been fixed." •. It is believed that the Government will use the control of air-mail subsidies and the ownership of aerodromes and navigational facilities to ensure that a Government air line is able to compete' on a favourable basis with private services. .
