KARORI RESULTS
The Karori Swimming Club is achieving good results from its policy of giving special attention to young swimmers, of whom it has an increasing number coming forward in competition. Events each week produce a standard of performance and a wealth of talent promising well for the club's future. Results of the latest series of events are': Beginners' race: D. Penman 1, L. Pedersen 2. Improvers' handicap (33 l-3yds): A. Warwick 1, B. Chapman 2, K. Watchman 3; 21 4-ssec. Junior 50yds —G. Speedie 1, L. Blewett 2, B. Chapman 3; 38 4-ssec. Intermediate boys' 50 yds.—P. Tingey 1, R. Kirby 2, J. .Cross 3; 34sec. Senior women and intermediate girls' 50yds.—A. Leslie 1, P. Abernethy 2, J. Peacock 3; 35sec. Men's backstroke, 66 2-3yds.—W. Hill 1. W. McEwan 2, K. Hall 3; 56sec. Open dive. —L. Blewett 1. W. McEwan 2, B. Chapman 3. Women's dive. —Miss Elgar 1, Miss Peacock 2, Miss Chapman 3. An inter-club competition, in which the Karori, Petone, Hataitai, and Wellington Clubs will each have two representatives in each event (junior, intermediate, and senior), is to take place on the night of January. 8. The contest, which promises to be most interesting, will be decided on aggregate points. _______^»
