WINGATUI TRIALS

LANCE WING IMPRESSIVE

P.A. DUNEDIN, This Day. [ Wintry weather marred the final | trials for the Dunedin Meeting. Though there was little rain, a strong, biting southerly slowed up the horses down the back straight. Among those to please were Joygiver. Stagestruck, and Naughty Lady. All the gallops, unless otherwise mentioned, took place on the outside of the course proper. Silver Sal finished better than Gamble at the end of six furlongs in 1.22_. Robert and Desert Trek required 1.24 4-5 for the same journey.

Faite vos Jeux and Pages Raid ran half a mile next to the rails in 53sec. Thornbridge ran five furlongs comfortably in 1.9£.

Benbecula registered 1.23 for six furlongs, travelling evenly all the way.

Joygiver was going better than St. Nattar when concluding five furlongs in 1.6.

Lance Wing and Royal Chance were on terms at the finish of six furlongs in 1.23. Lance Wing could have done better.

Stagestruck was over two lengths clear of a Battle Song colt when completing three furlongs next to the rails in 37 2-ssec.

Naughty Lady covered half a mile on the rails in 51sec.

Commemorate schooled over four hurdles. He ran off at the third hurdle and was inclined to run across his fences, but would have done better if allowed to run along.
