TYPHUS AND TYPHOID
OUTBREAKS IN EUROPE
LONDON, December 19
D.D.T. powder has been distributed at town halls and schools in the Montauban area, near Toulouse, to prevent the spread of typhus, which has broken out in a prisoner of war camp there, says Reuters Paris correspondent.
Budapest radio reports that typhoid is spreading through southern Hungary. The number of new cases reported in one district has increased by 230 per cent, in the last week.
