N.Z. REGULAR FORCES
Changes in the command of the New Zealand Regular Forces are notified officially in last night's Gazette. MajorGeneral (temp. Lieutenant-General) E. Puttick relinquishes the appointments of General Officer Commanding the New Zealand Military Forces, Chief of the General Staff, and First Military Member of the Army Board as from December 31. Colonel (temp. Brigadier) N. W. McD. Weir relinquishes the appointments of Quarter-master-General, Army Headquarters, and Third Military Member of the Army Board, and is appointed Chief of the General Staff and First Military Member of the Army Board with the rank of major-general as from January 1. Lieutenant-Colonel (temp, Brigadier) G. B. Parkinson is appointed Quartermaster-General, Army Headquarters, and Third Military Member of the Army Board from January 1, when his temporary rank of brigadier becomes effective. Colonel (temp. Brigadier) G. H. Clifton ceases to be seconded for duty as liaison officer with. the United Kingdom and Australian organisations for the recovery of Allied prisoners of war and interned civilians and is appointed New Zealand Army representative (temporary) on the Joint Chiefs of Staff organisation in Australia (British Commonwealth Occupation Force for Japan), and is granted the temporary rank of brigadier while go employed.
