BANK OF N.S.W. ACCOUNTS.

The balance-sheet of the Hank of New South Wales shows a further Increase of £14,537,000 during the year ended September SO. and has now reached a record total of £223,104,000. The largest single item was tlie special account with the Commonwealth Brink, which rose £1^.375,000 to a total of £01,354,000. "An encouraging sign of a return to private business activity is the expansion of £2,154,000 in loans and advances, which now stand at I £07,430,000," said the president. "This is a welcome reversal of wartime trends. There i.s no change in the sum standing against bank premises. Contingent liabilities, £7,104,000. are £218,000 higher on the year. The balance of the year's profit, £552,007, is some £1858 'higher than last year, and flic amount carried forward, £317,131, is £20,107 higher."
