HUSBAND SHOT
WOMAN CONVICTED
P.A. NELSON, November 30. A verdict of guilty with a strong recommendation to mercy was returned by the jury in the case in which Corona Effie Webby, aged 30, was charged in the Supreme Court with causing actual bodily harm to her husband, Keith Douglas Webby, in such circumstances that If death had occurred she would have been guilty of manslaughter. The Chief Justice (Sir Michael Myers) presided. Accused- was remanded till' Monday, the Crown Prosecutor stating arrangements were being made for a mental examination.
The case arose out of a shooting incident in the bedroom of Webby's house on a farm at Hope on August 31.
