PACIFIC AIR SERVICE

! RIGHT PLANES LACKING I CANBERRA, November 29. Plans for an Empire air service in the Pacific have been delayed by difficulties of securing suitable aircraft. This was stated after Mr. J. B. Chifley had discussed the service with the Acting Minister of External Affairs, Mr. N. J. O. Makin, and the Minister of Air, Mr. A. S. Drakeford.

Plans have been made jointly by Britain, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia. The Government had hoped that the new service could start as soon as the R.A.F. trans-Pacific service ended. An effort is being made to ensure continuation of the service, perhaps on a weekly basis.
