Good games was played in all: grades In tne opening matches of" the softball season. Scoring was high in lower grades and women's senior matches, but the men's senior games were all closely contested. In a very v exciting game Jenkins Gym beat Kilbirnie by one run. Vie Moore, who has been three and a half years as & prisoner of war, pitched a. fine game for the winners. Broadway had a.clear win over Miramar, and Hutt managed to beat Ford- in a close tussle.
