P.A. GISBORNE, This Day. The Ruatoria Returned Servicemen's Association discussed the return to the district of a Japanese who was interned during the Pacific war, and passed a resolution asking the Government to revoke his naturalisation papers as a British subject and to remove him from the district. Colonel R. F. Gambrill, president of the Gisborne Association, said that the Government policy regarding enemy aliens had not been divulged, and as the law stood little could be done about the Japanese so long as he behaved and kept the law.

Vancouver via San Francisco, Honolulu, Canton Island, and Fiji to Sydney, but one trip in four would be terminated at Auckland.

The Australian, New Zealand, and United Kingdom Governments, although they had not yet selected their operating organisations, had accepted the liability of operating the route across the Pacific in a parallel with the Canadian service.

As an American airways line would begin, operation of its civil airlines to New Zealand and. Australia in March or April'next, it was imperative that Australia should be ready to begin its trans-Pacific service concurrently.
