VICEREGAL. Government House, Wellington, September 7. His Excellency the Governor-General this morning received Mr. Warwick Gregory, of the Port Line, Ltd. Mr. Carroll Roop Daugherty has been designated special assistant to the American Minister for New Zealand, according to a Gazette notification. Mr. F. C. Wilson, of Wanganui, has been appointed for a further term as member of the Government Railways Appeal Board. Mr. Keeble Thurkettle, of Wellington, a member of the R.N.Z.A.F. Band, has been advised by the secretary of the Trinity College, London, of his success in passing his practical examination for conductorship of military bands, L.T.C.L. degree. Mr. Thurkettle holds the same degree for" the pianoforte, for which he was awarded the gold medal.
