NEW POWER THREAT
SYDNEY September 3. Nearly 400 maintenance men at Bunnerong power station, Sydney's main source of electricity supply, went on strike today following the suspension of 60 employees who had refused to accept shift work. In consequence, drastic rationing of electricity is threatened, involving total prohibition of the use of power by certain large industrial and commercial undertakings, as well as serious restrictions to householders and other consumers. The deputy general manager of the county council, Mr. G. S. Boyd, said that preparations had been made to meet an emergency and the plant would be kept working as efficiently as possible. "The position is ominous, he added, "and if certain developments take place, drastic rationing will be inevitable." ______«——_
