GIFT BOX SENT TO ITALY
The first European gift box has been forwarded to Italy from the New Zealand Federation of Business and Professional Women. Through the courtesy of a Wellington member of the Dominion executive it was professionally packed and forwarded to the National -Patriotic Fund Board. Enclosed was a card to Dr. Castellani, president of the Italian Federation, with the following message:—"With deep regard from the officers and members of the New Zealand federation and wishing- them a wonderful future built on the courage and endurance of sad days now past." The gift box contained a large fruit cake in a sealed tin (a gift from Christchurch), soap, talc, face powder, and puffs, facecloths, hair clips and combs, tinned cheese, meat, jam, milk (full cream and sweet condensed), meat extract, malted milk, and jellies. More parcels will be sent. The fund is still open. The gift was financed by members through a^ fund similar to the "Lights Up" fund, to which each member of the federation is making her personal contribution towards the tremendous task of rebuilding the federations in occupied countries.
