SAVOURY CRESCENTS
FOR SUPPERS AND TEAS
Here's a useful recipe. Take 4oz Fether Flake Puff Pastry (you buy it ready mixed, then just roll and bake), l£oz grated cheese, small £-tea-spoon-curry powder, salt, pepper, and cayenne, rolled oats. Mix the cheese, curry powder, and seasoning well together. Roll pastry out thinly, sprinkle with the cheese, and fold in four. Roll out using rolled oats on the board instead ot flour. Fold in three and roll out again, still using rolled oats. Roll thin. Brush over with beaten eggs. Sprinkle on just a little salt. Cut into crescents. Bake on cold trays in fairly quick oven till pale golden brown and crisp throughout. Fether Flake is made by Adams Bruce Ltd., only, and is obtainable from these Adams Bruce shops only in Wellington: Cuba Street, Manners Street (next the Plaza), 12 Willis Street (near the Grand Hotel), Riddiford Street, Newtown, also at Petone and Lower Hutt— P.B.A.
