OVERSEAS INTEREST
The work which the Heritage organisation is doing in New Zealand for the children of servicemen who have given their lives for their country has attracted interest in a number of overseas countries, and it is likely that similar work will be undertaken in Canada, the United States of America, and South Africa. The movement in its early stages here was assisted by the Rotary movement, and it is principally from overseas Rotary clubs which have heard or read of what was undertaken in the Dominion that recent inquiries have come.
At the last meeting of the Heritage (Inc.) executive tw.o overseas requests for information were dealt with. The first was a cable from the Johannesburg Rotary Club asking for the fullest possible details of the method of operation of the organisation. The second came from the Philadelphia (U.S.A.) Rotary Club, which has actually organised along similar lines, and is seeking further information. "About a year ago," said the letter from the Philadelphia Rotary Club, "your good organisation forwarded to us here in Philadelphia some information regarding Heritage, and I am happy to tell you that a similar organisation has now been formed and a charter has been applied for." The letter then asked for information about the manner in which the work in New Zealand had developed and the services which were made available, and ended by saying that as the work in Philadelphia progressed the movement would pass on information to New Zealand so that a useful exchanging of ideas could continue.
