ARMY PIPELINE
FRENCH MAY ACQUIRE IT
LONDON, September 2. A pipeline laid down by the United States troops from Marseilles to the Saar will be French property if the negotiations at present proceeding between the French and the Americans are successfully concluded, says Renter's Paris correspondent. The pipeline was begun in August, 1944, after the Allied landing in southern France. At one time it was supplying 18,000 barrels of motor fuel a day to the Allied armour and transport vehicles. The United States Army and Navy Liquidation Commisison has declared the pipeline surplus equipment. It actually extends 120 miles further into Germany, but this section will be taken up because the .commisison has not included it in the surplus declaration.
