LANDING AT YOKOHAMA

AMERICAN CAVALRY UNITS

Rec. 11.45 a.m. YOKOHAMA, Sept. 2. Within two hours of the official signing of the surrender, veteran units of the Ist Cavalry Division landed at Yokohama. The movement follpwed the pattern of wartime invasions, except that a band played as the cavalrymen went ashore. The American Broadcasting Company's correspondent says it is understood that General Mac Arthur is going to Tokio tomorrow to confer with the Japanese about the date on which Allied forces will enter the capital, which will probably be in seven to 10 days' time. General Mac Arthur has moved his headquarters to a private home outside Yokohama.
