"BATTLE FOR COAL"
Rec. 9 a.m. LONDON, August 26. A message from Lille says that the French High Command has mobilised over 20,000 troops ih the Lille mining region for France's "Battle for Coal." Twenty-four hundred troops are assembling as a forestry corps to cut mine props, 500 to speed trains and barges, and 3000 more are to assure distribution. Fifteen thousand troops are designated to guard 45,000 German prisoners of war Avho are destined to work in the coal mines.
