PICTURES ON SUNDAY
MINERS AT BENNEYDALE O.C. AUCKLAND, This Day. The Waitomo County Council has granted an applicant in the Benneydale area permission to screen pictures on Sundays. The application was supported by the Benneydale Miners' Union. It was stated that as the mine was working night shifts Sunday was the only day in the week on which all the "miners could attend the pictures in company with their wives. In granting permission, in view of the special circumstances, the council reserved the right to review the position at any time.
