THE TESCHEN AREA

RED ARMY ON GUARD

LONDON, July 7

The Red Army has intervened to prevent any disturbances of the peace on a line running through the disputed Teschen district, according to Czechoslovak circles.

Czechoslovak troops are at present holding the parts which had belonged to Czechoslovakia up to the time of the Munich Agreement, and Poles are in possession of the northern part, to which 'they have undisputed title. The Red Army, between the Czechs and the Poles, is now occupying a narrow strip, on guard against arbitrary acts from either side.

Czech circles in London state that this arrangement, in" practice, works in protection of the Czechs, because they do not covet any territories in Teschen beyond their pre-Munich border.

Moscow radio says that a Russian.^ Polish agreement has been signed in Moscow providing release from Russian citizenship for Poles and Jews who were Polish citizens in 1939. All Russians, Ukrainians, Byelo-Russians, Ruthenians, and Lithuanians who apply will be released from Polish citizenship.
