GOLF COMPETITIONS
RESUMPTION NEXT SEASON
Golf competitions in Wellington will bo resumed next season, it was decided at the annual meeting of the Wellington Metropolitan Golf Association. Friendly inter-club games will continue meanwhile. After some discussion, a constitution was adopted. The objects of the association were stated to be (1) to foster and advance the game in the metropolitan ■ area of Wellington, and (2) to assist in the management of inter-club matches, tournaments, and all matters affecting the advancement of the game. Mr. H. A. Hansen said he thought the constitution should give control of inter-club games to the association, and recommended an alteration to. that effect. The matter was left to be decided at the next annual meeting. . A shipment of used golf balls may be sent to England at the end of the month to be re-covered. It was estimated that eight out of 12 balls sent would be found suitable for recovering. The balls would be back in Wellington by Christmas. The following officers were elected: President, Mr. Vincent Ward; vicepresidents, Messrs. P. J. Burke and H. James; secretary-treasurer, Mr. C. P. Mac Donald; committee. Messrs. R. A. Whyte, H. A. Hansen, J. F. Pym, J. P. Hooper, S. B. Duncan. T. A. Barrow.
