CHURCHES OF CHRIST

During last weekend representatives of Church of Christ committees from all over the1 Dominion assembled in Wellington for a Council of Committees This coincided with the Winter Youth School under the auspices of the Department of Religious Education, when over 80 young people undertook a course of leadership training.. This was the final course conducted by Mr. G. R. Stirling, Dominion Youtlv leader, who leaves shortly for South austrslis The council was presided over by Mr R T Wright, Mas.Comm., president of the conference. Representatives included Mr. A. E v Brough, of Nelson, vice-president of. conference, Principal A. L. Haddon, Professor FR. Vickery of Dunedin, Mr. E. Vickery, of Auckland, and Mrs. Boughan, _of Christchurch, president of the Christian Women's Auxiliaries. Matters discussed included the appointment of a home mission organiser, new methods in budgeting for church offerings of a Dominion interest, plans for advertising, and the launching o$ a scheme whereby bursaries be provided for students entering for the ministry of the churches. Services on the bunday were combined, being at Newtown in the morning and Vivian Street at It was announced during the sessions that Mr. A. E. White, of Melbourne, is to succeed Mr. Stirling as Youth Director, and that Mr. N. T. Haig is to take the oversight of. the new church at Seddon Street, Lower Hutt.
