U.S. AUTOMOBILE INDUSTRY Rec. 9 a.m. WASHINGTON,. May 24.
The War' Production Board announced that the production, of passenger motor-cars will be permitted from July ]. The chairman, Commander Krug, said that the producers will have to buy their materials on the open market without the assistance of priority. He added that he was confident the ingenuity of the in--dustry would overcome the problem by using substitute materials. Commander Krug predicted that 1.200,000 automobiles would be produced by July, 1946.
