SARK WOMAN'S HELP TO COMMANDOS

The Dame of Sark told correspondents how 60-year-old Mrs. Pittard received tv/o British commandos who landed on the island during \he German occupation. The commandos broke windows and entered Mrs. Petard's house and she gave them a complete picture of the German dispositions. Next morning the Germans panicked because two of their men had been killed and one wounded. They raked the island. Not satisfied that the wind had broken Mrs. Pittard's windows, they deported her to Germany-
