CANADIAN CHARGE
Rec. 9 a.m. OTTAWA, May 24. Mr. Coldwell, leader -of the Cooperative Commonwealth Federation, in a speech at a political rally, said that the Americans thought the war with' Japan was their private quarrel, and insisted that the Canadian division should serve with their forces and not as a separate formation. Mr. Coldwell, who did not give his authority for the statement, was outlining his impressions, gained at San Francisco. He added that the Australians were not very happy about "the filthy mopping-up job they had been given."
