Early last month it was brought to the notice of the police that pamphlets purporting to be issued _by the Dominion Sportsmen s Association had been distributed around Wellington, addressed "To the Electors" and asking for an expression of opinion on the desirability of licensing bookmakers. In the Magistrate's Co^rt today before Mr. J..L. Stout, S.M.,<**?mour ■ Joseph Sands, printer, ' was charged with failing to print on the pamphlets his name and address as required by the Printers and Newspapers Registration Act, 1908. ■He pleaded guilty, and was fined £125. "I have no doubt that this—what is it called?—the Dominion Sportsmen's Association will meet the fine," added the Magistrate.
