TRAM MANNERS
Sir, —I read with surprise the complaint of "Disgusted" regarding college girls retaining their seats while adults stand. I have noticed quite the opposite. If there is a spare seat they sit down and stand when an adult comes in to the tram. I regret to say' at times I have observed the adult has not bothered to say "Thank you." Young business girls also offer their seats to older women, usually with a smile. —I am, etc., AGED 55 YEARS.
"Man in the Street" suggests that in view of the ordeals endured by many, victory should be commemorated by an annual holiday known as "Deliverance Day."
