Then he got toothache and decided to rinse his mouth with eucalyptus. He raised the bottle to his lips and a spasm of paralysis struck his arm. He tried to take the bottle from his mouth, but the paralysis held it there and before it relaxed he had swallowed nearly a cupful. He died from pneumonia following eucalyptus poisoning.
