TRAPPED IN CLOUD

Reb. 2 p.m. MELBOURNE, Fs>.' $!■. Trapped in dense, low cloud: over Gippsland, 13 R.A.A.F. planes circled for hours before making forced landings. Four planes crash-landed, killing two airmen and injuring a third. One man was hilled when he baled out from his plane at a low altitude and his parachute failed to open. The planes were returning from night exercises when they were caught in a sudden storm which enveloped the ground in clouds.
