EIGHTH ARMY FRONT
Rec. 10 a.m. LONDON, Feb. 26. Units of the Fifth Army continued to consolidate and improve ■ their recently-gained positions on Mount Belvedere and Mount Delia Torraccia, says the communique from Italy. Patrols were active on the Eighth Army front. Correspondents at Mediterranean Headquarters state that Fifth Army troops are strengthening their newly - won positions on the heights south-west of Bologna. A fierce battle flared up on the Eighth Army front when the enemy crossed the Senio River with the object of capturing our positions on the east bank of the river near Fasignano. The enemy was driven off after heavy fighting.
