Section Officer, W.A.A.F., widow of Flight Lieutenant J. E. Carter, R.A.F.. and only child of the late Mr. and Mrs. G. M. Cooper of Hull, and West Ella. East Yorkshire.

Picnic at Titahi Bay, A very happy day was spent by mothers and children recently at a picnic given by the president and committee of the Wellington After-care Association for Backward Children, at the residence of Mrs. T. Young, Titahi Bay. In the absence of the president, Mrs. D. Coutts, J.P., the senior vicepresident, Mrs. W. A. Jameson, thanked Mrs. Young for her kindness and generosity in loaning her home. Mrs. Bycroft, on behalf of the mothers and children, thanked Mrs. Young and the committee for a very happy time. Lending Their Home. When the Silverstream Kindergarten Association held the first meetin" of the year recently a vote of thanks was passed to Mr. and Mrs. F.
