SHIRTCLIFFE SCHOLARSHIPS
His Excellency the Governor-General presided at a meeting of the special committee established under the trust deed for the award of Shirtcliffe Scholarships. The committee comprised Mr. Justice Johnston, acting for the Chief Justice; the Vice-Chancellor of the University of New Zealand; and the Director of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research An apology was received from the Bishop of Wellington.
The committee resolved on the following awards:—Shirtcliffe Fellowship, Mr. F. M. Todd (Victoria College); Shirtcliffe Scholarship, Mr. R. E. Corbett (Otago); Shirtcliffe Graduate Bursary, Mr. W. E. Harvey (Auckland).
