MURDER CHARGE

WIFE BEFORE COURT

Suffering from the effects of a knife wound in his chest, Maurice Bernard aged about 30, was taken by the Free Ambulance from his home at 34 Marion Street, Wellington, last night, but he died before reaching hospital. Subsequently his wife, Lena Rosita Bernard, domestic, 33, was arrested by Detectives N. J. McPhee and A. W. Hedwig, and this morning she was charged before Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court with the murder of her husband.

On the application of DetectiveSargeant E. H. Compton the accused was remanded until February 28.
