STOPPAGES AT MINES
O.C. AUCKLAND, February 5 The Mac Donald mine is idle. The men held a stop-work meeting on Friday which did not conclude until 1 p.m., and they later went to their homes. A meeting was held at 9 o'clock this morning, after which the men returned home.
It is believed that the discussion of this morning's meeting concerned a dispute in connection with the working of a particular place in the mine. The men are asking that a mass meeting of all miners in the district be held at an early date to discuss the dispute.
Work was resumed this morning at the Renown mine, which was idle on Friday following a stop-work meeting It was decided at a. meeting of the Northern Miners' Union executive at Huntly tonight that delegates would address the men at each mine tomorrow.
