TRAMWAY MATCHES
The Wellington team was overwhelmed by Christchurch by an innings and 83 runs in the- first match of the tramwayraen's triangular cricket tournament which started at the Basin Reserve .yesterday. Teams from Dunedln, Christchurch, and Wellington are competing in (ho tournament for the Lauchlan Cup. Today Canterbury played Otago. who were (he winners of the Dunedln City and Suburban Association's A grade competition last season. On Wednesday Wellington will play Otago. The tournament will be decided on a points basis —eight iioints being allowed for a win outright, lour for a win on the first Innings, and two for a draw.
