SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION
A meeting of the New Zealand Softball Council's executive, held in lieu of a council meeting which had lapsed, decided that the challenge match for the Beatty Cup (interprovincial) be played on the ground of the holders (Auckland) early in February, and that it be left to local associations to determine whether teams of servicemen are eligible for the John Lennon trophy (inter-club), also,to be'played for in February, the latter r decision being subject to service teams not taking possession of the trophy. In ►connection with the proposed amalgamation of the men's and women's softball associations in. Wanganui, Messrs. Jenkins and Howe (Wellington), and Engels (Auckland) were appointed a sub-committee to approach the women's association. Mr. W. H. Wilson was elected a member-of-the executive.
