DELAYED CRAFT ARRIVES
P.A. AUCKLAND, This Day. The Sunderland flying-boat which was involved in a collision with a R.N.Z.A.F. machine off. Whangarei on Saturday afternoon and subsequently towed to Whangarei for repairs, reached Auckland this morning, a new propeller haying been fitted yesterday In-an interview the captain of the Sunderland. Flight Lieutenant J. S. Shephard, Duriedin, said the mishap had proved just about the best possible advertisement for the British flying-boat. When the Sunderland came down there was a heavy sea running, the chop being at least eight feet. Despite this, condition and the fact that seas continually broke over the boat she suffered no damage and did not take in a drop of water. Flight Lieutenant Shephard paid a tribute to the Auckland fishermen who picked up [the flying-boat and towed her to i safety. _
